DPM integrated into Powertech Transformers.

Powertech purchases the other 50% shareholding of the business from ABB. The company's name changes to Powertech Transformers.

Power Engineers becomes division of Desta Power Matla.

Powertech sells 40% shareholding of ABB Powertech Transmission & Distribution back to ABB.

Joint venture formed with black partner Power Matla called Desta Power Matla

ABB Powertech restructured to form ABB Powertech Transformers and ABB Powertech Transmission & Distribution.

ABB took up BBC Baden shareholding and BBT name changed to ABB Powertech.

ASEA Electric S.A. merged with Brown Boveri SA to form Brown Boveri Technologies - 50% BBC Baden 50% Powertech.

1987

ASEA Sweden withdrew from S.A. Powertech bought their remaining shareholding and delisted.

1984

Powertech bought out Anglo American shareholding.

1979

Anglo American took up 40% shareholding and the controlling interest in ASEA Electric S.A.

1966

ASEA Electric went public with ± 35% traded on JSE.

1944

ASEA Sweden bought Besaan’s Engineering in Pretoria and ASEA Electric S.A. was formed.
